If it was for more of a performance/track feel I would go for the ssc. But the Veyron has the luxury and comfortability

Most definately the ssc, for performance and styling, the veyron is just plain ugly.
I am Definately Going for the Veyron, It looks better, it has more style, the SSC looks to much like a lamborghini Gallardo. the bugatti brakes better, it's cheaper, it's luxury inside, and outside. and most ppl who vote ssc are probably american as far as i know. European cars will always be better than american cars. The Bugatti has the looks, the comfort, RELIABILITY. Americans haven't evolved far enough to know what comfort means in a car. they missed that part of the evolution.
The SSC takes more time to go from 0-60, it takes more time to get to 253 MPH and it takes EVEN longer to get to 256 MPH.
Face it, In a Drag race, The Bugatti Wil have reached top speed and crossed the line before the SSC.

dude the aero is way faster the veyros 253 hasnt been proved on the road plus the aero can get up to th 270s in a wind tunnel plus the veyron is twice the price of the aero and twice the engine size and turbos the aero has two turbos and a v8 and its still faster than the veryons 4 turbos and v16

So what if it the SSC has a greater top speed. Bugatti 0-60 is faster, Official record show the 1/4 mile time as 9.8 seconds making the Veyron the most rapidly accelerating production car in history.
It looks much better than that american pile of carbage.
It handles well as it is 4WD.

It is easy to make a car with a high top speed. You just strip everything out and add a big engine, ending up with a crap interior like the SSC.
But the Veyron has an amazing interior, it is made for luxury and comfort. Hence the weight of almost 2 tonnes. As for the SSC you would probably be in pain after driving it for a few mins as it wont be comfortable.
And the veyron top speed is limmited. So in reality with the limmiter removed it would be just as fast as the SSC. Thet limmited it for safety. As for the the SSC they probably dont care about safety (silly american cars") It will probably catch fire after a minute at its top speed.

Bugatti Veyron is awesome. C'mon 0-60 in 2.5 sec! Mind boggling. The SSC gets there in 2.7 sec which is almost like a snail compared to the Veyron. The Veyron has luxury and style and the looks are much better. All the SSC has is basically a cabin. Looks no where near as good as a Veyron. Veyron all the way!!!!!!!!

let's set the record straight the veyron is only .2 seconds faster pickup to 60 mph
The ssr has a .3 second lead on a veyron in a quarter of a mile
Which means while the ssr is slower to 60 but it is faster to 140
The veyron has a top speed of 253 (I have read both 253 and 256 doing my research). The ssr has 270 in a wind tunnel test and I have read on one test it has achevied 257 and so one.
The ssr is not slow at all and neithier is veyron. The reason why veyron has a bigger motor is to carry around all that extra stuff.
The power to weight ratio the ssr wins
So to sum it all up if you buy the cars for what they were built for which is to go fast and be the fastest the way to go is ssr.
But if you buy it for comfort and style the veyron is the way to go.
I will go with the ssr since it is way less (less than half the price of the veyron) and it does what it was built for, going the fastest.

The only thing that the Bugatti really has going for it is anything less than probably around 0-60 which is really really gay since if you are going to a high top speed which would be in almost every senerio the SSC would be a much better car to have, and even then the difference is infinitesimal.

Actually SSC UATT sucked on track due to lack of grip on corners meaning it was designed for top speed. Having too much power/torque without power steering and traction control mean intensive concentration in addition of stress due to the use of traditional gearbox.

SSC UATT has no traction control. It needs to be lower to compensate. The reason it goes faster than Veyron is due to high rpm and longer gear ratio. Braking from that speed is important too, SSC needs more skills given the lack of ABS and a great chance to lock brakes and scrape the front.
if the SSC is american made... then one question...??? How does it perform on curves...??? american cars are fast at straights but are crap at curves...
as far as curves are concerned the Veyron has been road tested by Jeremy of top gear racing it with an airplane... and he says it drives like a car...
if the Veyron is heavier than the SSC then there is no point of comparing it... strip down the Veyron with all of its comfort and then race it with the SSC... that is how we find out which car is really the fastest...

comftable reliable, classy and looks hot. it even looks good in white which is saying somthing. although the ssc has a higher top speed it takes longer to get to it. top gear uk got the veyron to 407km/h, thats a feat in itself(sorry about the kilometers, thats what we use in australia.)
the veyron looks better, its original. it dosent look like your normal supercar like the ssc does. the ssc is a fantastic car but it just doesnt have the style of the veyron.
if you had them next to other supercars the ssc would fit in and the veyron would stand out, and that is exacly the point.

But what is the point of going that fast if you get a cramp halfway through?

so to finish, if it were a contest of speed the ssc would win. (yes there is a REALLY big difference between 3MPH when your at this speed)
but overall, it has to be the veyron. at least the veyron looks original.
KEEP IN MIND THE BUGATTI IS 4000 POUNDS ITS NO LIGHTWEIGHT. WHILE THE AERO WEIGHS HALF AS MUCH.
The top speed doesn't always matter look at the ascari a10 and the gumpert apollo they bet the veyron round the top gear test track and I think the veyron could beat the ssc round the track.American cars can handle only a few but European cars are usually better and the veyron will get you to 250mph in style and comfort.

id go with the bugatti...the aero is so light that if u were going over 200 mph and turned it would flip...its like a go-cart...
Veyron all the way. With two Supercharged handmade Audi V8's boasting 1001hp with 12 turbochargers hooked to 14 radiators - you cant go wrong. And yes, they have proven the Bugatti to hit 253. I've personally watched a video of it. Buggati's are so much more luxurious and even better, are made in europe, which means their not going to fall apart like some crappy ford.
That said, the SSC is good in my book to me, but appears to be just a cheap looking car. Its as if they copied the look of a lambo, and changed the scoops and the hood modestly. Even if it can go a couple mphs faster than the Veyron, the Veyron rapes it in acceleration. By the time the SSC gets to that top speed, the Buggati is already gone.
PLUS, it wont matter cause' at 250mph+, you only have 15min left on the tires and 12min left of gas.
Btw, the Veyron seatbelt costs $3000 dollars to make. With such a prestigious history in the name, you cant go wrong.

Definately Veyron for me. I mean, the Veyron looks better, its more classy, and its more powerful anyway. When you think about it, youll realize the veyron is about 1,000 pounds heavier and only 3mph slower. So for me, its gotta be veyron.
The key is reliability. Car tunners have been making cars with 1000+HP for ages, for example based on the toyota supra, BMW M3 E36, nissan skyine, and many others. The thing is, they have to strip down the engine every 20.000miles to change piston rings (and sometimes the pistons) and calibrate the inside of the cilinders. The Bugatti has the reliability and durabilit of any common european car because each piston and each turbo are working "lightly", but touching the limits of the best known engine engineering. Now imagine the stress on the Aero engine with just 8 cilinders and 2 turbos... insane, obviously! Its certainly a lot of fun for a while... but then it stops working. No doubt about that. Just like F1 cars need engine replacement or huge repairs after being stressed in only one or a couple of races.

The SSC Ultimate Aero TT is a tuned car. Original it has "only" 793hp. What do you think is possible if you tune the Veyron?
An example comes from Mansory, the Mansory Bugatti Veyron Linea Vincero with 1109hp and a much better appearance because the many carbon fibre. The Vincero maximum speed test has as yet been no conformation, but I think it will beat the SSC.

But back to topic, I watched a documentation about the factory of the Veyron. Every car and engine are completely assembled by handwork. The technique of the Veyron is like an F1 or FIA GT car. You can't compare that with the SSC. The Veyron is much better.

You quite clearly know nothing about American cars, as it was America that founded alot of out comforts and luxury like Aircon, power seats, powersteering, power windows, cruise control rain sensors..etc.
American cars for years were way more luxurious than Euro cars. Even the 2009 Lincoln MKS is just as luxurious as top of the range Mercedes.
As for the Aero SSC, I vote for it and I'm not American.
Why? Because unlike a comment someone said, its NOT stripped out and it does have luxury.
It gets complimented for being a supercar with luxury Saloon car interior, which pisses all over the comments left by idiots that nothing about the SSC.
Its just as luxurious as a Veyron, with leather and suede seats, Aircon, power windows, mirrors,10 speaker DVD, CD player Sat Nav, front air lift, Rear camera.
The SSC is a twin Turbo V8.Its not likely to go much faster than a W16
but NO points to bugatti for throwing millions of pounds into the development of a W16 just to make the car heavier and slower and than a customised Corvette engine done at half the cost. Euro car fans would slate America for doing what Bugatti has done.

Personally I think both cars Look really ugly, but the Veyron is my favorite out of the 2. It looks better, its all around better in performance and it looks better out of the 2. out of all super cars though my fav. is the McLaren F1, Looks sick, its fast, and it has one seat in the middle which i think is cool :P
And people call the SSC a basic car and call it rubbish for having a basic interior??. (even though it hasn't) when the McLaren only has one seat. No one calls the McLaren, so why do people call the SSC interior?..I know why, because it beat the Veyron, and the eurocar fans have to criticise it for something.

First of all, there are no european cars! There are german, italian and british cars. Okay and maybe the ugly french :P
Secondly for me Bugatti is less about heritage than more about great engineering.
As you might know Bugatti belongs to Volkswagen, in the same way as Audi, Lamborghini and many more.
They don't work the american way, like throwing in everything they can find. It's not about putting a big block for an engine and building a car around it.
So thinking objectively I'd go for the Veyron. But emotionally... Yeah, the SSC looks nicer.

Some people say that the Bugatti would be faster if you got rid of the luxury. that is true. But they are trying to make it fair for the Veyron so to make it fair for the SSc why don't you give it a 16 cylinder engine just like the Bugatti Imagine how fast it would be then.
Yes but the SSC does have the interior luxuries of the Veyron. Its not like its got a sparse cabin. It still has DVD/ in built SATNAV/ 10 speaker sound system, A/C hydrolic front air lift/ Electric windows.
The veyrons biggest weight issue is the engine itsself.

Ok so there both very fast cars, no one can deny that, they both do what they are intended for. I dont quite think that we should be judging the top speeds of these cars or the 0/60, the differences are so minuscule i dont really care. Yes im happy for america to finally bring a super car into the mix but it is not that great minus the 3 mphs it has on the veyron. Now in almost all the reveiws on these cars the veyron has more ppl saying it handles great than the ssc aero does, actually alot of ppl say that the aero has bad handling contradictory to what most ppl think. Just because its lighter doesnt make it turn better. Now the veyron handles like a car, looks good and has an interior with all the amenities, the fact that the ssc has no air conditioning is a real turn off, and anyone whos riden in a car on a hot summers day without a/c knows what im talking about. Now congrats to us Americans for holding the world record FASTEST car not necessarily the BEST
